The Northshore Humane Society is creating a new, purpose-built campus that brings animal rescue, veterinary care, adoption, education, and community engagement together in one location.
Spanning approximately 21,255 square feet, the new facility is designed around the growing needs of both the animals in Northshore Humane Society's care and the community it serves. The project reflects years of planning with staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners and responds directly to increasing demand for animal rescue services, accessible veterinary care, and spaces for education and community involvement.
The new campus will expand what Northshore Humane Society can provide from one location while creating better environments for animals, veterinary staff, shelter staff, volunteers, adopters, donors, and the larger community.
ANIMAL CARE + RESCUE:
• 73 dog kennels with an adjacent indoor play area for exercise and behavioral enrichment
• 40 cat kennels with access to a secure outdoor catio
• Dedicated intake and quarantine areas to safely manage incoming animals
• Specialized housing areas designed around the different stages of animal care
VETERINARY SERVICES:
• Full-service veterinary clinic serving both shelter animals and community-owned pets
• Six exam rooms for routine visits and diagnostics
• Dedicated treatment, preparation, and surgical suites designed to support efficient veterinary care
COMMUNITY SPACES:
• 1,500-square-foot event pavilion for adoption events, fundraisers, and community gatherings
• Connected 1,000-square-foot multipurpose room for volunteer training, workshops, educational programs, and outreach
• Half-acre public dog park
• Half-mile nature trail connecting the campus with a memorial garden and the site's detention pond
