Station 81 is a critical new asset for St. Tammany Parish Fire District 8, replacing an aging facility with a modern, efficient, and resilient station designed to meet the growing needs of the department and the Abita Springs community. At 9,040 square feet, the new station supports daily operations, enhances first responder wellness, and serves as a civic anchor for future community engagement.
The facility is a pre-engineered metal building with a carefully designed brick and CMU faรงade along the highway, developed in close collaboration with the Abita Springs Historic Commission to ensure it aligns with the townโs historic character. The result is a forward-thinking structure that respects its surroundings while positioning the district for future growth. Station 81 embodies a thoughtful balance between tradition and innovation, preserving Abita Springs' architectural identity while delivering a high-performance facility equipped for the challenges of tomorrow.
